Hey there, lovelies! How is life treating you lately? Are you finally free or still stuck at home like me? Like it says in the title of the post, I will be sharing a little bit of a life update and what I have been up to.
Which is not a lot since I’m still on lockdown.
My family and I decided to started self isolation on March, since all of us could work from home we just agreed to stay at home. The big change came a month ago when my city required an official lockdown.
I know. I have been stuck at home for three months already.

I only go out when I have to walk my dog. We do it once or twice a week so he can run for a little. Coco has a small backyard so is not necessary for him to go outside all the time.
To be honest, now I’m pretty used to being at home 24/7. I have a good routine and for now I’m content with it.
Also, here in Chile is winter, so being at home doesn’t feel that bad. I don’t want be outside anyway.
For now, I have been spending my days working, creating TikToks, and just enjoying my days with my family.

I also stopped posting on Instagram. I just wasn’t feeling it anymore. I barely open the app and I’m happy with that.
First, seeing stories of people going out was upsetting me. Around 90% of the people I follow on IG live in the US. I understand there aren’t restrictions like here in Chile, but the virus is still there. Is still killing people.
So I was just annoyed.
Another factor is that I just didn’t want to take pictures. My inspiration for that app is dead for now.
Also, the algorithm wasn’t helping with my motivation, so hopefully I can take some time to come up with a new strategy.
I am checking my DMs though. So if you want to reach out through the app you can do that as well!
How Do I Spend My Days?
My routine is pretty basic. I wake up at 9 AM, then I do a short work out for around 30 minutes (currently doing a Chloe Ting Challenge, which I recommend 100%); and after that I take a shower to I start working at 10 AM.
I take my lunch break at around 2 PM, then I keep working some more until 6 PM.
When my working day is over, I either work on my blog, read a book, or play games with my family.
I know, sounds boring AF, but is not as bad as you think. Especially for homebody like me.
I also prefer not to think too much about this quarantine. It is happening now and we don’t know when it’s going to be over. So I choose not to stress over something I can’t control.

Black Lives Matter
Even though I’m not as active on Instagram anymore, I do use Twitter more often now. Which lead me to involve myself with the Black Lives Matter movement.
I’m not American, nor do I live in the U.S., but that doesn’t mean I can’t speak out about the issue. Racism doesn’t happen only in America. It’s something that is very rooted in Latin America as well.
I reflected on the issue and learned some more about Black history. I sign up some petitions, and had some arguments with people on social media.
I also realized that I need to be more conscious over the things I do. For example, the books I read.
I have never wonder about the color of the skin of the authors that write the romance books I love so much. Or the race of the main characters.
That’s why I created a list with 10 Romance Books With Black Female Protagonists.
I need to include more diversity into the books I read.
This was a little life update! Now tell me, what have you been up to these days? How are you feeling with everything that’s going on in the world? Let me know in the comments!
Also, if you are in a long distance relationship and you need to vent to someone because you don’t have anyone else to talk to, my DM is open for you! You can also contact me through my contact page.
Many of you have been sending me messages because this pandemic is messing with your relationship and plans. Keep fighting those doubts and don’t give up!
If you are struggling with the distance, here are some long distance relationship tips that can help you with that.
Also, last month I wrote this post: Reflections Of A Long Distance Relationship During Quarantine. Hopefully that can bring some light during these uncertain times.
Sincerely,

I’m glad you’re staying occupied! I’m am so annoyed and upset about COVID-19. So many people where I live are not treating it seriously and taking precautions. I’ve been home for about 3 months, too. It’s fine so far. I have my husband, our dog, and my work. Stay well!
Melissa says
Yes! COVID-19 has messed so much with my plans for this years, but I’m taking it easy because honestly… what can I do? So the option I have is go with the flow and not stress about it.

It’s great to hear from someone who is handling isolation so well, as I’ve mostly heard of people who *aren’t*. I personally have my good and bad days. The bad days can get really bad, but I’m trying my best to focus on the good.

So true! Definitely helps when you are a homebody and it’s winter. It’s not like I want to go out a lot since it’s so cold outside haha. But once you get a routine that works, it’s definitely something that gets manageable with time.

Quarantine definitely has its ups and downs. I am so glad you were able to make the most of it!
Melissa says
To be honest, I’m so glad it’s winter or I would be desperate to go out! ahaha
