Top 10 Mafia Romance Series

Hey there, lovelies! I’m back again with another romance book recommendations. This time I wanted to share with you my top 10 mafia romance series.

Mafia or mob romance books are definitely one of my favorite sub genres in the romance world. There’s something about the mystery and adventure in them that I simply love.

I’m very particular with the books about organized crime that I like. They have to have certain characteristics for me to like them.

For example, when there’s extreme abuse, it’s a no for me. While I like dark romance novels, there are some topics I rather no to read about. Especially if the main character has to go through it and there’s a descriptive scene about it.

So, that being said, mafia romance books might not be everyone’s cup of tea, but there’re certainly very interesting and well written novels with that topic.

In this list you will find my favorite mafia romance series.

In my opinion, it can be hard to find good books with that topic, so I’m happy I can share with you some of the best romance books I have read.

Another thing I want to add is that this list hasn’t been written in any particular order. I just collected them from my Goodreads account.

If you want more romance book recommendations, that’s where you can go (or you can find more on my blog here). The ones that I have rated with four or five starts are going to be my top recommendations for you.

Best Mafia Romance Series

1. Dark Verse Series by RuNyx

This series has a total of five books (last book hasn’t been out yet).

The first two books features the love story between Tristan and Morana. They have this amazing chemistry and you can actually feel it!

Even though these mafia romance books include different couples, it’s important to read the in order to understand better the story and the world where they are written into.

Below you will find the description of the first book in the series. Definitely my favorite couple so far!

In my opinion, the second book is better, but just because the main couple is already together and you can see Tristan acting more possessive and protective. I simply love that!

The Predator

What happens when an unstoppable force meets an immovable object in the field of death?

In the dark underbelly of the mob, Tristan Caine has been an anomaly. As the only non-blooded member in the high circle of the Tenebrae Outfit, he is an enigma to all – his skills unparalleled, his morality questionable, and his motives unknown. He is lethal and he knows it.

As does Morana Vitalio, the genius extraordinaire daughter of the rival family. What Caine does with weapons, Morana does with computers. When a twenty-year old mystery resurfaces, Morana infiltrates Caine’s house, intent on killing him, unaware of a tie that binds them together. Hate, heat, and history clash together with unexpected sparks.

But something bigger, something worse is happening in their world. And despite their animosity, only they can fight it down.

2. Made Series by Danielle xLori

If you haven’t read this series, then you have to start now. This is by far one of my favorite ones. Especially the third book!

The Darkest Temptation (Made #3) has everything I love about mafia romance books. A couple that has opposite personalities, a nice/good girl that falls for the dark and mean mafia leader, kidnapping, and more!

This series will have four books (the last one hasn’t come out yet).

Each books features a different couple, so in my opinion, you can read them in a different order as standalone. You won’t miss out any key details if you decide to start with The Darkest Temptation or The Maddest Obsession.

Read below the blurb of the first book.

The Sweetest Oblivion

She’s a romantic at heart, living in the most unromantic of worlds…

Nicknamed Sweet Abelli for her docile nature, Elena smiles on cue and has a charming response for everything. She’s the favored daughter, the perfect mafia principessa… or was.

Now, all she can see in the mirror’s reflection is blood staining her hands like crimson paint.

They say first impressions are everything

In the murky waters of New York’s underworld, Elena’s sister is arranged to marry Nicolas Russo. A Made Man, a boss, a cheat—even measured against mafia standards. His reputation stretches far and wide and is darker than his black suits and ties. After his and Elena’s first encounter ends with an accidental glare on her part, she realizes he’s just as rude as he is handsome.

She doesn’t like the man or anything he stands for, though that doesn’t stop her heart from pattering like rain against glass when he’s near, nor the shiver that ghosts down her spine at the sound of his voice.

And he’s always near. Telling her what to do. Making her feel hotter than any future brother-in-law should. Elena may be the Sweet Abelli on the outside, but she’s beginning to learn she has a taste for the darkness, for rough hands, cigarettes, and whiskey-colored eyes. Having already escaped one scandal, however, she can hardly afford to be swept up in another.

Besides, even if he were hers, everyone knows you don’t fall in love with a Made Man… right?

All books are available in Kindle Unlimited and Audiobook.

3. The Santiago Trilogy by Catherine Wiltcher

Even though this technically isn’t a mafia/mob romance series, it’s definitely part of the organized crime romance genre. The Mafia is involve, the Bratva is involved, and different cartels as well.

Dante Santiago is the head of a criminal organization that falls in love with Eve. Their love is toxic at times, but they definitely learn a lot of each other to be a strong couple.

Dante will give everything he has to protect Eve.

This trilogy tells the story of Dante and Eve, and all the books are worth it.

Hearts of Darkness

“First, Dante Santiago held a gun to my head. Then he blew my world apart …”

He’s a criminal with no conscience. The whisper of a name, a faceless stranger… A man content to dwell in the shadows of his underworld.

I’m the light to his dark, an investigative reporter intent on exposing dangerous men like him. We were worlds apart until I caught his attention. Now I’m his captive, kept at the whim of a devil with no kindness or morality.

I may be an innocent but I have secrets too. For years I’ve been fighting a private war with the illegal drugs trade, with the cartel responsible for murdering my brother. I’m closer to revenge than I’ve ever been until his duplicity tears my life apart.

Ours is a relationship borne of hate but we can’t deny the fire that rages between us. But Dante’s a haunted man. He knows only pain and suffering until I see a spark of light buried deep within the shadows of his heart.

Now I have two choices. Save Dante Santiago’s soul or lose myself to his darkness forever.

4. Her Russian Protector Series by Roxie Rivera

This series has a total of eleven books, and can be read as a standalone. Each book will feature a different couple, although there are two couples that have two books each dedicated to them. So in their case, you will have to read them in order.

I’m talking about books #4 and #6 (Nikolai), and books #1 and #9 (Ivan).

While the Mafia is Italian, the Bratva is Russian, and this series is all about the Russians.

If you ask me, my favorite book in this series is Nikolai (Her Russian Protector #4). I just simply love the love story he has with Vivian.

Below you can read the blurb of the first book.

Ivan

Desperate to find her sister, Erin goes to the only man in Houston who can help her — Ivan Markovic.

The intimidating, tattooed Russian operates one of the most elite mixed-martial arts training centers in the world but it’s his shadowy past and reputed connections with Houston’s underworld that interest her most.

To find her sister, she’ll need the help of her big, scary Russian protector — but asking for help from a man like Ivan carries a steep price, one that might just include her heart.

5. Mount Trilogy by Meghan March

Again, another series that is not explicitly about the mafia, but features organized crime romance books instead.

This trilogy tells the story of Lachlan Mount and Keira. The first one “owns” the city of New Orleans, and the second character works for her family’s distillery.

In my opinion, this could have been a long standalone. First, there’s not much development with the couple in the first book; everything starts getting better by the end of the second book; and finally, in the third book is where most of the action happens.

The first two books end up in a cliffhanger, but thankfully all books are out now, so you won’t be anxiously waiting for them to be released.

You can read the blurb of the first book below.

Ruthless King

New Orleans belongs to me.
You don’t know my name, but I control everything you see—and all the things you don’t.
My reach knows no bounds, and my demands are always met.
I didn’t need to loan money to a failing family distillery, but it amuses me to have them in my debt.
To have her in my debt.
She doesn’t know she caught my attention.
She should’ve been more careful.
I’m going to own her. Consume her. Maybe even keep her.
It’s time to collect what I’m owed.
Keira Kilgore, you’re now the property of Lachlan Mount.

6. Born in Blood Mafia Chronicles Series by Cora Reilly

If you have searched for mafia romance novels before, this series will show up under “the best mafia romance books”, and I agree.

While the story is good and keeps you entertained. I personally don’t like that basically each book happens in the same timeline but with different POVs.

You start with book #1 with the story of Aria and Luca, but in book #2 is the same story, but with a different POV (in this case with Dante and Valentina). Which end up being a little boring. Why? Because I knew what was going to happen.

Besides that, it’s a great story and I like the characters!

This mafia romance series have seven books, and each book features a different couple (except book #6 that is the continuation of the first book).

This series also have two spin-offs. The Camorra Chronicles and Sins of the Fathers (which is the story of the kids from couples in the Born in Blood Mafia Chronicles).

You can read the blurb of the first book below.

Bound by Honor

A modern mafia fairytale.

Born into one of the leading mob families in Chicago, Aria Scuderi is a mafia princess known for her beauty. What many consider a gift means her doom when she’s forced to marry Luca Vitiello to bring peace between two mafia dynasties. Luca is the future Capo of the New York Famiglia, a man known for his brutality—and for crushing his cousin’s throat with his bare hands.

Aria is terrified of marrying a monster like him. He may be one of the most sought-after bachelors in New York, thanks to his good looks, wealth and predator-like charisma. But Aria knows the bad boy aura isn’t just a game; blood and death lurk beneath Luca’s striking gray eyes and arrogant smile.

In her world a handsome exterior often hides the monster within; a monster who can just as easily kill as kiss you.
Yet, there’s no escaping the arranged bond, much less a man like Luca. He’d follow her to the end of the world.
Her only chance to survive in a marriage with Luca is to gain his affection and work her way into his heart—even when rumor has it that Luca doesn’t have a heart to begin with.

A mafia princess known for her beauty given to a monstrous man.
Even monsters have a heart.
She has every intention of working her way into his.

7. Monster in His Eyes Series by J.M. Darhower

I read this series a long time ago (it was first released in 2014), and I rated the three books with five stars in Goodreads. So yeah, that’s how much I liked this mafia romance series.

If you are a person that likes romance books with age gaps. Then this is the series for you! Karissa starts this series when she’s 18 and Ignazio is in his thirties.

It’s a great story with amazing characters. So I truly recommend it.

Below you can read the blurb of the first book.

Monster in His Eyes

Ignazio Vitale is not a good man.

I suspect it, the first time I see him, sense the air of danger that surrounds the man. He has a way of commanding attention, of taking control, of knowing what I’m thinking before I even do.

It’s alarming and alluring. It’s dark and deadly. It’s everything I’ve ever wanted but the last thing I truly need. Obsession.

It doesn’t take him long to draw me into his web, charming me into his bed and trapping me in his life, a life I know nothing about until it’s too late.

He has secrets, secrets I can’t fathom, secrets that make it so I can’t walk away, no matter how much I beg him to let me go. I see it sometimes in his eyes, a darkness that’s both terrifying and thrilling. He’s a monster, wrapped up in a pretty package, and what I find when I unmask him changes everything.

I want to hate him.

Sometimes, I do.

But it doesn’t stop me from loving him, too.

8. RAW Family Series by Belle Aurora

Another amazing series that belongs in the best mafia romance books list.

The first book in this series BROKE my heart, and I had to wait four years to read the second part of that book. Now that all the books in this series are out, don’t hesitate to read them. It is worth the heart break from the first book.

If you are impatient like me, you can go ahead and read the first book and then the third one. The second book is not necessary to read to understand the third book since it features a different couple.

Raw and Rebirth are about Twitch and Lexi, while Dirty is about Julius and Alejandra.

Below you can read the blurb of the first book.

Raw

Growing up the way I did, you’d think I’d be more screwed up than what I actually am.

Soon as I turned sixteen, I left that bump in the road I called home and took my chances on the street.

Best decision I ever made.

Now, at the age of twenty six, I’m educated, employed and damn good at my job.

My friends have become my family. Like me, they know what it’s like to grow up unloved.

But the saying is true.

The world makes way for those who know where they are going.

That’s me.

I know where I’m going and I’ll get there eventually. On my own terms and at my own pace.

But then there’s him.

I feel his eyes on me. I see him hiding in plain sight. He watches me.

He makes me feel.

It’s unconventional.

But it’s real.

I’m sure you’re wondering how a person falls in love with their stalker.

So am I.

This isn’t a story.

This is my life.

The three books in this series are available in Kindle Unlimited.

9. Bratva’s Claim Series by Jagger Cole

This Bratva romance series has six books so far, and each book features a different couples. So each book could be read as a standalone with no order in particular.

While reading about the Mafia and Italians, sometimes is nice to read about a different organized crime group.

My favorite book in this series so far has been The Bratva’s Locked Up Love (Bratva’s Claim #6).

Read the blurb of the first book below.

Paying the Bratva’s Debt

Top 10 Mafia Romance Series. Organized Crime Romance Books. Mafia Romance Books. Mafia Romance Novels. best mafia romance books. Romance Book Recommendations. Elephant on the Road.

A debt is owed. And it will be paid.

For as long as I can remember, I’ve been confined in a gilded cage. Beautiful, delicate, untouched. Meant to be seen and not heard. A perfect little prop for my father’s political career.

But that all changes when Viktor Komarov, the most powerful, notoriously dangerous criminal in Chicago, explodes into my world.

My father hired Victor to do a job: assassinate a political rival. But the brutal, ruthlessly cold Bratva kingpin doesn’t work for free. And when my father can’t pay him in time, Victor sets his eyes on another prize: me

Now I’m his. A captive in his lavish home. A distraction for his fierce gaze. A plaything for his every whim.

At first I hate him. But then something changes. I know it’s wrong. The captive isn’t supposed to want the captor. You’re not supposed to crave the man holding the keys to your imprisonment. You’re not supposed to ache with need when he rattles the cage.

Viktor’s the splash of red in my black and white life. And before long, the line between good and bad, love and lust, and captivity and freedom becomes irrevocably blurred. I’ve been caged again. So why do I feel liberated?

A debt is owed. And it will be paid. Again, and again, and again…

Available in Kindle Unlimited.

10. Scarred Souls Series by Tillie Cole

This series have four books in total, and each book features a different couple.

The Scarred Souls series is very dark and with a lot of violence. I mean, the main characters have been abducted and are slaves. So that tells you a lot of the storyline.

I try to avoid books that talk too graphically about abuse, so this series is definitely not for everyone.

I really enjoyed Reap (Scarred Souls #2) and Ravage (Scarred Souls #3). They got me all emotional and very into the story.

Below you can read the blurb of the first book.

Raze

To take back life, one must first face death…

One man stripped of his freedom, his morals…his life.

Conditioned in captivity to maim, to kill and to slaughter, prisoner 818 becomes an unremorseful, unrivaled and unstoppable fighter in the ring. Violence is all he knows. Death and brutality are the masters of his fate.

After years of incarceration in an underground hell, only one thought occupies his mind: revenge…bloody, slow and violent revenge.

Revenge on the man who lied.

Revenge on the man who wronged him.

Revenge on the man who condemned him and turned him into this: a rage-fueled killing machine. A monster void of humanity; a monster filled with hate.

And no one will stand in the way of getting what he wants.

One woman stripped of her freedom, her morals…her life.

Kisa Volkova is the only daughter of Kirill ‘The Silencer’ Volkov, head of the infamous ‘Triad’ bosses of New York’s Russian Bratva. Her life is protected. In reality, it’s a virtual prison. Her father’s savage treatment of his rivals and his lucrative and coveted underground gambling ring—The Dungeon—ensures too many enemies lurk at their door.

She dreams to be set free.

Kisa has known only cruelty and loss in her short life. As manager of her father’s death match enterprise, only grief and pain fill her days. Her mafia boss father, in her world, rules absolute. And her fiancé, Alik Durov, is no better; the Dungeon’s five-time champion, a stone-cold killer, the treasured son of her father’s best friend, and her very own—and much resented—personal guard. Unrivaled in both strength and social standing, Alik controls every facet of Kisa’s life, dominates her every move; keeps her subdued and dead inside…then one night changes everything

While working for her church—the only reprieve in her constant surveillance—Kisa stumbles across a tattooed, scarred, but stunningly beautiful homeless man on the streets. Something about him stirs feelings deep within her; familiar yet impossibly forbidden desires. He doesn’t talk. Doesn’t communicate with anyone. He’s a man beyond saving, and a man she must quickly forget…for both their sakes.

But when weeks later, out of the blue and to her complete surprise, he’s announced as the replacement fighter in The Dungeon, Kisa knows she’s in a whole lot of trouble. He’s built, ripped and lethally unforgiving to his opponents, leaving fear in his wake and the look of death in his eyes.

Kisa becomes obsessed with him. Yearns for him. Craves his touch. Needs to possess this mysterious man…this man they call Raze.
