The Ultimate Long Distance Relationship Playlist

We know that long distance relationships are hard, but on some days we struggle more with the distance. So I created a long distance relationship playlist that will help you to feel better!

Missing your significant other is part of any LDR. Not being able to see your boyfriend or girlfriend for a long period of time is truly the worst part of it.

Feeling lonely is definitely something we have to deal with almost on a daily basis.

That’s why I feel like listing to music can help with this kind of emotions.

Songs about long distance relationships; or songs about not being able to see your partner, can make you feel melancholic.

But there’s something nice about listening to songs that can make you feel a little sad. I know it sounds crazy and funny, but do you agree?

This ultimate long distance relationship playlist might make you feel a little angsty, but these songs will help you to feel less lonely. You aren’t alone in this situation!

We might feel sad and a little discourage sometimes, but a good way to deal with this is with music!

Music has an impact a big impact in our moods and emotions. It can help you to improve your mood, or when you just want to be alone in your bedroom and feel all these emotions that are inside of us.

Since I met my boyfriend five years ago, I have been adding songs to a playlist that I created on Spotify.

These songs are attached to good memories and some of them just remind me of how our relationship makes me feel.

I encourage you to do the same!

To this playlist dedicated to your significant other, you can add songs from your special dates, a show you watch together, a random song you were listening while you were thinking about your partner, etc.

I also add the songs that my boyfriend dedicates me or that have a special meaning for him.

Some of the songs in this long distance relationship playlist might not be about LDRs per se, but it will tackle topics like: when you need reminding of why the distance is worth it, when you feel the distance is too much, when you need to fall in love with your relationship again, and more!

  1. Love this and love the playlist! My partner and I were super-long distance (he’s from Mexico I’m from the UK!). It was so hard, but so worth it. We also created a playlist for each other to listen to and keep connected through music between visits. Top of our long distance list had to be ‘Throw Me a Rope’ by KT Tunstall. We’re both musicians and found songwriting itself really helped (or any creative process, really). When we were together in Mexico, we had a blast recording some of the songs I’d written about our long distance relationship with some members of his indie band. Now we’re living together, we have a special record of that time that always makes us so grateful for what we have now. Keep going! 🙂

    1. OMG! That is such a sweet thing to do. Recording music together is an amazing way to bond, and then you have something for the memory. Such a sweet story! So happy to hear that now you live together.

  2. I am also in a international long distance relationship, for two years now. Sometimes, I feel like I can wait for an eternity, and sometimes I feel like I cannot go one more day. It’s hard. But, like you, I believe it can be done, if two people truly love each other, and want to be together. My SO feels the same. So we keep fighting for it. Luckily, I’ve been able to travel to South Korea several times, and he’s been able to travel to US. We’ve even been lucky enough to be able to travel and live together for a few months at a time during our relationship. I know it could be harder if it weren’t for that.
I also just want to say that your posts have helped me a lot. Thank you!

  3. Thanks for te tips but my boyfriend is one of a kind. He does not want me to ask questions a lot. He just wants me to talk. He also does not want to watch movies except for Marvel and Transformers. He also does not want me to order food or send stuff to him only because it is not practical which is very understandable. It is hard to be in a long distance relationship. I salute you all, guys!

  4. I absolutely love that you have a playlist together. That’s seriously the most precious thing. I think if my husband and I had been long distance longer than a year, I might have made something quite similar. I see some familiar songs on there. It’s fantastic!

  5. Aw! I love this idea for a playlist so much. Long-distance is hard, but this is a way to make it fun!
