Hi there, lovelies, and welcome back to the blog! Today, there’s a special post for bloggers (especially if you are a beginner).
If you want to organize your blog, social media, your daily life, etc; but you don’t know how, then I hope this post helps you with that!
If you want to organize your blog, social media, your daily life, etc; but you don't know how, then I hope this post helps you with that! Click To TweetWe know that there are many planners available in the market (which can be a little overwhelming) with different price ranges as well; and since I started blogging in 2017, I have tried a few.
I have even tried digital ones, but I quickly realized they weren’t for me (I personally prefer to write down what I have to do). So if you prefer paper planners, instead of the digital ones, this is the post for you!

Now, you might ask yourself. Why is this the best planner for bloggers? The answer is simple. In my opinion, this planner easily adapts to everyone’s needs and the different lifestyles; and the best part? You can customize it as well!
Why The Happy Planner Is The Best Planner For Bloggers?
There are many reasons why I think this is the best planner for bloggers. One of them is how versatile it is.
For example, I’m not only a blogger. I have a full time job, and have other personal projects that I like to keep in just one place.
And The Happy Planner lets me do that and more!

As you can see in the photo above, The Happy Planner is divided in three parts. Each of those sections can be a different category.
There are a few ways you can set up your planner. Depending on your lifestyle and your needs, you might prefer to divide you week in morning, afternoon, and night.
Or, each block can be a different category. Like: blog, social media, school or simply life in general (where you can write down your appointments, trips, etc.)
You can see how the first layout works out in my post about How I Use My Happy Planner To Work From Home.
The Happy Planner has different layouts and sizes, so if you want the same planner as me, look for The Classic Happy Vertical Layout (with weekly and monthly layouts. Size: 9.75 x 8.5.)

Another Reason Why The Happy Planner Is The Best Planner For Bloggers
It’s customizable! The company that creates the planner offers different accessories you can get for your planner like fill paper for notes, goals list, to-do lists, and more! They are very affordable as well.
Not only that, if you look on Pinterest or Google, you will find many freebies related to The Happy Planner.
For example, a while ago I created a monthly planner to plan my Instagram Stories beforehand (mainly to remind myself to share old content, not day to day stuff). That way I would have something to share with my audience.
The process to do it is very simple. You can create anything you want on Canva, print it at home, and add it to the planner.
Side-note: If you want a tutorial on how to create printables for your Happy Planner, let me know in the comments!
Now, making the holes for the planner can be a little time consuming if you don’t have the specially-designed paper punch for the pages, but nothing super hard. I would just print three months in advance to avoid doing it all the time.

It also, has a section for your goals! So if you are that kind of person that loves creating monthly goals, you will use that section a lot.
In my case, I prefer to set up quarterly quotes (I actually have a freebie with a goals calendar, you can download when you sign up for my newsletter).
As you can see, it’s a very versatile planner. You can even get creative and add stickers, washiest tape, etc., to decorate it.
On Pinterest and Instagram you will find many examples on how others decorate it.
So whatever you want in a planner, if you don’t see it, you can create it!
Also, there are many different covers you can choose from, so I just know you will find one you like.
Some of them are currently on sale for only $20 at Michaels. Which is a great deal considering the normal price is around $32.
I’ll be getting this one this year, but this Classic Happy Planner with Good Habits sections, is also a great option!
Last Year I got the 18 months one, but it was a little heavy to carry around, and I just prefer my planners to be from January to December.
Another thing I want to mention, is that you can re-use the rings that come with the planner. So in the future; you can make your own notebooks, a book for recipes, a smaller version of your planner that you can carry around, etc!

This Is How I Organize My Blog With The Happy Planner
Now that I have listed the reasons why the Happy Planner is the best planner for bloggers, I want to show you how I use it for my blog.
1. Plan Newsletter + Add Posts For The Month
This is something I do at the end of each month. One day I take the time to plan the content for the month and my newsletter.
Since sometimes I can post on the day I plan, I try to use washi tape, that way I can move the post to the new date I post.

2. ADD MONTHLY GOALS
I know I said, I prefer quarterly goals, but some of that goals need to be done on a monthly basis, so when that happens I add them to the goals sections.
For example, I set a minimum of how many posts I want to write that month. Or, if I want to create a new product, etc.
By the way, you can check out my shop here! I have available: Instagram Puzzle Feeds, Pinterest Templates, a Lightroom Mobile Preset, and more. The last product I added to the shop is a super cute Habit Tracker for only $5!
3. Write Down Tasks I Do Each Week
Why I mean by this, is that there are certain tasks I do every week on the same day. Or those that have been schedule with time, like appointments or trips.
For example, I write my newsletter every Thursday. I also create new pins every Friday and I schedule them on Saturdays.
Things like that are the first tasks I write down when I sit down and plan my week.

4. Use The Notes Section
Now, sometimes I just have a to-do list on my phone with all the things I need to do, but I don’t know when to do them.
In that case, I go through that to-do list and select those things that need to be done on a certain week.
For example, taking photos for a blog post, reply to emails or blog comments, etc.
How To Make Your Happy Planner To Look Pretty
Well this is something I kinda change every week since I’m always finding new ideas on how to decorate The Happy Planner.
The easiest way to do it is through stickers (these are my favorites, they are currently on sale as well!), washi tape, and markers or highlighters.
I also use these sticky notes, they fit perfectly on each block. I use them when I want to add a small to-do list or just to add color to the planner. Just make sure they are 1.5″ x 2″!
Something that I really wish I knew is how to write my tasks in a pretty handwriting, but since I don’t really have the time to learn, sticker will have to do.
So tell me, how do you usually organize your blog? Do use paper planner or prefer digital ones? Let me know in the comments!
Sincerely,

Cina says
Being a blogger it is very important to plan everything and yes I love your blog as it simply explains everything. Thanks for this love. Btw I am using an bullet journal for this.
Melissa says
Thank you so much! I really appreciate your comment. Also, bullet journal are amazing especially because they are so customizable!
Deborah says
Great recommendation! Personally, I’m a bullet journaler because I like the customization aspect of it but the Happy Planner is a great alternative!
Melissa says
I would love to be a bullet journal person (I love that you can customize everything!), but I realized that I need the structure of a planner.
Stephanie says
The part that caught my attention immediately was the price! I’ve seen blogging planners (and just everyday planners) that cost 2-3x this one! That blows my mind! I love that they have customizable options, and there are so many different ways to utilize the planner as a whole. I’ll have to look into it for next year!
Melissa says
I know! It’s so affordable and very useful. I just love that you can personalized it with different stickers, pens, etc.
Jennifer Prince says
I really need to be better with my organizational system. This seems so perfect for me!
Melissa says
I’m so happy to hear you like this system! After years of trying different types of planners, the vertical layout is the best one for me.
Kileen says
This planner looks so amazing and so useful! Plus it is so cute! I love that it’s big enough to write complete thoughts in but small enough to take with you. What a great find!
Kileen
cute & little
Melissa says
Absolutely! Although I wouldn’t get a year and a half planner again because it is kinda heavy. I think it would be even easier to carry if it’s just one year.
Laura Allen says
I’m a huge sucker for pretty planners, and this one is only 17??? I really really want to take a new trip to Michaels stat! I also LOVE that replica fragrance, it’s one of my faves! I love planning out my content and I feel like this is the perfect planner to list all of my ideas! Thank you for this!
Melissa says
I can’t recommend this planner enough! It’s so versatile! Another thing I love about this planner is that I have fun while I plan my week.
