Yes! It’s time for a new reading list. I’ll be sharing with you nine romance books to read this summer + a bonus book! Summer is such a fun time to read outdoors. You can go to the park, the beach, or even create a set up in a balcony or patio if you have them.
So far this year I have read 30 books out of 50 (that I’m planning to read). I’m ahead of schedule so that makes me happy, but I’ve been struggling to find new books. If you have any book recommendation, let me know in the comments!

1. Turn (Gentry Generations #2) by Cora Brent
I’m determined to leave my mistakes in the past and turn things around.
These days I’m back in school, I’m surrounded by my wonderful, crazy family and I’m working for my dad.
Then Curtis Mulligan happens.
A supposedly reformed gang member from the rundown prison town where my folks grew up, Curtis looks like he was built for mayhem.
We have nothing in common.
If he hadn’t taken a job working for my father, our paths wouldn’t even cross.
But I can’t admit that menacing mix of ink and muscle has flipped a switch inside of me.
It’s an impulse I’m determined to ignore.
However, when Curtis turns out to be much more than he seems and steps between me and a bad situation, I wind up owing him a hell of a favor.
And I can’t think of anything but paying him back…

2. Not So Nice Guy by R.S. Grey
“Oh my god. Who is that?”
I get asked this question a lot.
“Oh him?” I reply. “That’s just Ian.”
Just Ian is the biggest understatement of the century.
Just the Mona Lisa. Just the Taj Mahal. Just Ian, with his boring ol‘ washboard abs and dime-a-dozen dimpled smile.
Just Ian is… just my best friend.
We’re extremely close, stuck so deep inside a Jim-and-Pam-style friendzone everyone at works assumes we’re a couple – that is until one day, word spreads through the teacher’s lounge that he’s single. Fair game. Suddenly, it’s open season on Ian.
He should be reveling in all the newfound attention, but to our mutual surprise, the only attention he seems to want is mine.
He’s turning our formerly innocent nightly chats into x-rated phone calls. Our playful banter sports a new, dangerous edge.
I want to assume he’s playing a prank on me, just pushing my buttons like always – but when Ian lifts me onto the desk in my classroom and slides his hands up my skirt, he doesn’t leave a lot of room for confusion.
I’m a little scared of things going south, of losing my best friend because I can’t keep my hands to myself. So, I’m just going to back away and not return this earth-shattering kiss – oh who am I kidding?!
Goodbye Ian, ol‘ buddy, ol‘ pal!
Helloooo mister not so nice guy.

3. Bitter Heat (Singed #1) by Mia Knight
She was the wood. He was the flame. After this, they would be ash.
A cruel twist of fate leaves Jasmine Hennessy stranded in a remote cabin with her worst nightmare—her ex-husband, James Roth, who she hasn’t seen in five years. He isn’t acting like the man she married, but did she ever really know him?
One night together kicks off a series of events that threatens her freedom as Roth seeks vengeance on those who ruined him seven years ago. He’s determined to bring her back into the world she left behind where money is king, reputation is everything, and people will kill to keep their secrets.
Author’s Note: This is a dark romance novel with triggers and mature themes that may make some readers uncomfortable.
If you hate cliffhanger, I would suggest you wait until all the books come out. I already started so at the moment the next book comes out, I will read it immediately. The end leaves you wanting more. I just couldn’t believe it ended that way. I was shook. I’m still feeling like that haha.
It didn’t seem that dark at the beginning. Yes, there were a few weird things but I just didn’t think too much about it. I didn’t expect the end!
To be honest, I would love to explain myself better, but I’m an expert at giving spoilers without trying (or noticing). So I’ll just leave it there. If you are into dark romances, this is for sure your book!

4. The Lying Hours (How to Date a Douchebag #5) by Sara Ney
BRAHAM DAVIS—Honest Abe to his friends—IS IN OVER HIS HEAD…
He’s a fixer and a do-good-er. The all-knowing, resident “grandfather” on the wrestling team who everyone relies on to fix their problems. His teammates go to him for everything; advice, homework, or when they need a sober driver at three in the morning–whether he likes it or not.
Abe’s current mission is easy: mend his roommate’s broken heart by helping him find a girlfriend on the LoveU app–without getting caught in the lie…
SKYLAR GABRIEL. IS. OVER. IT.
Over her bad grades. Over her meddling older brother and his two best friends. And over dating douchebags. What she wants to know is: where have all the nice guys gone?
She longs for a handsome, sweet, and honest guy who can make her laugh. In one last ditch effort to prove that he exists—Skylar turns to LoveU.
On her worst day, Skylar has no filter (it’s a miracle she hasn’t been ditched mid-date).
On her best, she’s as wholesome, and sweet, as pie.
On Thursday? She matches with Abraham Davis’s roommate.
Skylar Gabriel is falling for the wrong guy—she just doesn’t realize it yet.
Why?
BECAUSE ABE DAVIS IS A LIAR.

5. The Perfect First (Fulton U #1) by Maya Hughes
“How long do you last in bed?” Those were her first words to me, swiftly followed up with, “And how big would you say you are?”
Persephone Alexander. Math genius. Lover of blazers. The only girl I know who can make Heidi braids look sexy as hell. And she’s on a mission. Lose her virginity by the end of the semester.
I walked in on her interview session for potential candidates (who even does that?) and saw straight through her brave front. She’s got a list of Firsts to accomplish like she’s only got months to live. I’ve decided to be her guide for all her firsts except one. Someone’s got to keep her out of trouble. I have one rule, no sex. We even shook on it.
I’ll help her find the right guy for the job. Someone like her doesn’t need someone like me and my massive…baggage for her first time.
Drinking at a bar. Check.
Partying all night. Double check.
Skinny dipping. Triple check.
She’s unlike anyone I’ve ever met. The walls I’d put up around my heart are slowly crumbling with each touch that sets fire to my soul.
I’m the first to bend the rules. One electrifying kiss changes everything and suddenly I don’t want to be her first, I want to be her only. But her plan was written before I came onto the scene and now I’m determined to get her to re-write her future with me.

6. Beyond Reckless (Lost Kings MC #8) by Autumn Jones Lake
Blood doesn’t make you family, loyalty does.
Marcel “Teller” Whelan, Treasurer of the Lost Kings MC, has always been two things—honest and responsible. At ten years old, he was already taking care of his baby sister. At eighteen, he patched into the Lost Kings MC and took a major role in shaping the club’s future.
Three years ago, he thought he’d met the perfect woman, only to have her reject everything he is—a Lost King.
One bullet is a lifetime supply.
Now, after an accident that left a girl dead and Teller almost crippled, he’s struggling through the darkest time in his life. His niece, sister, and Lost Kings MC family are the only things holding him together, but his reckless actions are bound to drive everyone away.
Then, in the most unlikely place, he crosses paths with her again. The woman he once thought might be his perfect match.
Love soothes our inner demons.
Sparks fly for both of them. She’s the ride-or-die woman he needs, able to calm his many demons and bring the light back into his life. But she has a secret—one that forces him to lie to his brothers.
In chaos we trust.
When Teller’s brothers find out who he’s falling in love with, it will create a storm of chaos for the Lost Kings MC. But if there’s one thing Teller’s turbulent life has taught him, it’s that sometimes love is worth the chaos.
I have to admit that books involving motorcycle clubs aren’t my favorite. Most of the books I have read about them are just not my thing. They usually talk about rape and just too graphic and there are some topics I avoid because they don’t sit well with me, but I decided to give the subgenre a try.
So happy I did! This is definitely a book I would recommend for people who want to be introduced to motorcycle clubs.

7. Beyond Reason (Lost Kings MC #9) by Autumn Jones Lake
WHEN THE MOST TOXIC PEOPLE COME DISGUISED AS FAMILY, WHO CAN YOU TRUST?
Betrayal by blood cuts the deepest.
Teller’s found his ride or die girl. The light Charlotte brings to his life has touched the darkest parts of his soul. But a devastating secret from her past resurfaces to threaten their future.
Every truth can be erased with one lie.
When a sinister truth is exposed, it forces Charlotte to question everything about herself. Even whether she’s worthy of Teller’s love.
The darkest betrayals never come from your enemies.
With Teller’s love roaring louder than the lies, Charlotte can finally put her demons to rest. But has too much damage been done for her to prove her loyalty to the Lost Kings?
This is the conclusion to Teller’s story. Beyond Reckless should be read first.

9. Suppression (Laurel Springs Emergency Response Team #2) by Laramie Briscoe
If you don’t love, you can’t get hurt…
Nick Kepler
One thing my childhood taught me was never show my emotions. Don’t make memories. Don’t count on other people. Don’t hope for the best.
All that changed when I was adopted by Ryan and Whitney Kepler.
Begrudgingly I let them into my life, along with my new sister and a best friend I would lay down my life for. But giving up my heart and accepting love in return from Kelsea Harrison? It’s the hardest thing I’ve ever tried to do.
And the truth is? I’m not sure if I’m that strong.
Kelsea Harrison
From the very moment I met Nick Kepler I knew he would be the love of my life. Problem is I haven’t been able to convince him of that yet.
When our best friends get married, Nick and I spend a drunken night letting our walls down and losing all our inhibitions. In one moment I’m given everything I ever wanted. Then, in the blink of an eye it’s taken away from me.
The question is, can I be strong for the both of us?
The answer? I have to be.

BONUS: Untamed Delights (The Phoenix Pack #8) by Suzanne Wright
Return to the sensual and feral stirrings of the Phoenix Pack as a woman who’s already bound to one man is tempted by a wolf who’s bound only to his nightly desires.
Cat shifter Mila Devereaux can’t help but see it as a betrayal. That her one true mate imprinted himself on another female was hard enough to accept. Struggling to be at peace with her loveless fate, she doesn’t fight the suggestion of entering an arranged mating. Then she meets Dominic, a pack enforcer with a notorious reputation. It’s in his very scent. This irresistible playboy—and delicious badass wolf—is making Mila’s fantasies come alive again.
Alarming, compelling, and heady with sensual energy, Dominic is an expert at making women shed their inhibitions. Now everything about him—his killer smile, his perfectly sculpted body, and his smooth-as-honey voice—is drawing in a captivating new catch. But for the first time in his life, Dominic is feeling more than a fling. He finds himself tantalized by a female who makes him think of forever. He wants all of Mila and won’t be satisfied until he has it.
As the passion grows wild, so does the risk. They’re falling in love in the shadows and secrets of their pasts. And it’s threatening to destroy everything Mila and Dominic are fighting for. And are destined for.
This book is not out yet, but I can’t wait to have it in my hands. This is sadly the last book in this series. Paranormal romance is amazing if it’s written well. So I definitely recommend it if you want to read a good paranormal story.

There are two seasons I lost to read the most. Winter and Summer. When it’s cold I love laying in bed, having a cup of tea next to me reading a love story; and when it’s hot, I love going to the beach and take a book with me. It’s so nice to be there enjoying the sea and having a good book to read.
Which is your favorite season to read? What genre is your favorite? Let me know in the comments! If you want more book recommendations, click here.
Sincerely, Melissa
