Overcoming limiting beliefs has been one of the hardest steps I have come across since I started my spiritual journey.
Having to reset my mind and re-learn pretty much everything I already know (with a positive light), has been hard.
I know the theory and I understand it, but having to apply those new beliefs into my daily life has been a real challenge.
That’s why I wanted to share with you some of the exercises and tips that have helped me along the way to get to the point I am at today.

Erasing liming beliefs about money to attract abundance has been one of the hardest categories (alongside self-love).
I have been listening to society for so long, that trying to overcome those beliefs is a constant battle with myself.
Sometimes it’s funny. You know when in cartoons some characters would have an angel on one shoulder and the devil on the other one? Well that’s exactly how I feel when I try to take control over my subconscious mind.
This is how it usually goes:
Me: I can make a lot of money blogging!
My subconscious mind (Ego) : a lot? I don’t think so, you need a real job to make money.
Me: that’s not true. I can co-create my own reality and I know it’s possible, I have seen others doing it.
Ego: well, they aren’t you, and you aren’t capable.
Me: 😔
It doesn’t help when people around me pressure me, the fact that I’m still so sensitive about what others think makes it a little harder to overcome.
The final goal is hearing what your Ego has to say, and ignore it. Don’t let it make you doubt yourself.
After all, our subconscious mind will always be there and we need to learn how to live with it, without ruling our lives.
Now, this post is specifically for those limiting beliefs about money, but it can apply to any other category.

The Truth About Limiting Beliefs
No matter how many visualizations we make, or how many different manifestation tips and tools we use to materialized our desires; if in our subconscious mind there are beliefs like: “it’s hard to make money nowadays”, we won’t get it.
Getting rid of limits beliefs is the key to successfully manifest abundance.
You have to truly believe it’s possible. If there’s something blocking you, you won’t get it.
It’s as simple as that.
Money is an Energy
Recently my dad told me something that really spoke to me: “when we don’t have money, we complain; and when we do have it, we also complain because we have to pay bills. It’s better to just smile at life, pay happily, and ask God to keep providing.”
Reminder: money is just an energy that flows.
Every time you have to pay for something (a product, service, etc), if you keep looking at it as an expense, you are constantly generating a mentality of shortage and scarcity.
That’s why we need to start thinking about money as an exchange of energy. You are giving this money/energy, in exchange of something you need. That’s it.
Don’t give money an ulterior meaning.
When you pay for something, be thankful. Why? Because you have the money to pay for it. Be as thankful as you are when you receiving it.
If there are some moments when I don’t have enough for something (because I have other priorities), I simply tell myself that I will save with the intention of getting it later.
It’s also important that when you set that intention, you make sure to feel and be clear that is not coming from a place of scarcity.
Now, if you are choosing not to get something in particular (even though you have the money) because “something else might come and I need that money just in case”, you are literally attracting a problem.

How To Identify Limiting Beliefs
Identifying limiting beliefs is an important step to start overcoming them. If you know where the problem starts, it’s easy to find solutions for it.
I’ll share with you an exercise you can do to help find what limiting beliefs are impacting your life. This is what you have to do:
- On a piece of paper, create six sections: health, work, money, love, life, me.
- Write down all limiting beliefs that you have that relate to each category.
- Try to finish it in a week. It’s not easy to identify all limiting beliefs in one sitting.
- Once you finish writing, read your list and think about where you heard those opinions. It could be your parents, friends, social media, etc. This will also help you realize that those limiting beliefs are not yours. That is part of the healing process.

For example: on the “life” section, you can write “life is hard” or “life is only suffering”. On the “me” section, you can write any negative characteristic you might have about yourself, like “I’m lazy” or “I’m clumsy”.
The thing is, just because you grew up hearing people telling you “you are bad at math” or “you are lazy”, doesn’t mean it’s true.
You simple heard it so many times that you assume it as the truth.
In reality, you are very capable. If you believe that, that’s how it’s going be. Give more power to yourself and your abilities.
Another example: in the “love” section, think about the misconceptions you might have about love or about people. Men are cheaters, women are emotionally unstable, etc.
Of course, if you think all men cheat, what are you going to attract? Cheaters.
Remember to just write negative and limiting beliefs.
This exercise will also help you realize which area in your life needs more help. If you write down more negative points in the money section, that will tell you where to focus on first.
At the end, our values and beliefs aren’t fixed. If our lives don’t go where we want, we can analyze if our beliefs are making us stronger or limiting us. We decide if we want to change the direction our lives are taking.

How To Overcome Limiting Beliefs To Attract Abundance
Once you know the limiting beliefs you have to work on, it’s easier to stop them.
Remember that it doesn’t matter what’s happening in the outside world. There could be an economic crisis happening, but if you have positive beliefs about money, and a prosperity mentality, that’s what you are going to manifest in your life.
If you think that because of that crisis you won’t find a better job or you won’t make more money, then that’s exactly what you are going to attract.
You choose if in your mind there’s going to be scarcity or not.
To erase a limiting belief, you can do this visualization exercise:
- Choose one limiting belief to work on.
- Find a comfortable position and close your eyes.
- Think about an image that will represent your limiting belief.
For example, if you think you are not good enough, you can imagine yourself surrounded by people and visualizing yourself smaller than the rest. That way you are symbolizing how insignificant you feel. - Once you have that image in your mind, visualize a stamp with the word “canceled” on it in red ink. Stamp that image three times.
That image that represents now will be covered with those words. - Shred the image like it’s a photo in four or eight pieces. Then, burn those pieces with violet fire (the color of transmutation). It doesn’t matter the source of the fire. It can be a candle or a campfire.
- Now, you replace it with a new positive belief and feel it in your heart.
For example, you can replace the limiting belief “you can’t have everything in life”; for “you can have everything in life. I’m abundant in all aspects of my life. I deserve it, I allow it for myself.” - Repeat the new positive belief and enjoy that emotion. Believe it’s real.
- Open your eyes.
Do this visualization exercise for 21 days, and if you skip one day you will have to start again.
The more limiting beliefs you erase from your subconscious mind, the more your reality will change.
