Welcome to Blogmas day 15! Today it’s a special day for someone I love. My boyfriend!
He’s turning 25 today, and I’m so sad I can’t be there celebrating his birthday with him.
Definitely one of the biggest struggles for long-distance relationships. You don’t get to enjoy together especial days. Which can be very frustrating and depressing.
So today I wanted to do something different and fo a Christmas tag with my boyfriend.
These questions were so much fun to answer! Not to only we leaned more about each other, but we also realized how different our holidays are. After all, we grew up in different countries.

Christmas Tag Questions
1. Do you open any presents on Christmas Eve?
Keith: No. I usually can wait until after church to open them on Christmas Day. I used to want to open them sooner though.
Melissa: We do actually! At least in Peru and Chile, it’s a tradition to open your gifts on Christmas Eve.
I can’t even think of me as a child having to wait until the next morning. I would have been anxious all night waiting for Santa to come!
And now that I read Keith’s answer I can tell him. We are not waiting that long hahaha.
2. What holiday traditions are you looking forward to most this year?
Keith: Setting up & decorating the tree with my family. I also enjoy going to church & opening presents.
Melissa: Decorating and cook dinner with my family!
Also; on the 25th after, we makes hot chocolate, cut some panettone, and we drink and eat leftovers together. Sooo good!
3. Is your Christmas tree real or fake?
Keith: My Christmas Tree has been fake for a long time. I’d like to go back to a real tree one day though.
Melissa: Fake! It’s way easier to have a fake one. Although I think it’s fantastic people have real trees.
4. What is your favorite Christmas film?
Keith: Elf is my favorite. I also like Jingle All The Way & The Grinch (with Jim Carey).
Melissa: So hard to decide! But I think Jingle All The Way it’s my favorite one. Aren’t we cute? We like similar movies!

5. Where do you usually spend your holiday?
Keith: I spend the holiday at home with my parents.
Melissa: Depends on how expensive the plane tickets are. If we get good deals, we fly to Peru and celebrate at my grandparent’s house. And if we don’t, we spend it in my house with family and friends.
6. What is your favorite Christmas song?
Keith: I have many favorites so it’s hard to pick just one.
Melissa: Feliz Navidad by José Feliciano. What a classic! It’s not December if I don’t hear the song several times during the month.
7. What is your all-time favorite holiday food/sweet treat?
Keith: I don’t really have one.
Melissa: This is seriously the best part of the holidays! Yesterday’s post was about The Best Desserts For Your Christmas Dinner. So let me tell you, I’m an expert on sweet treats!
My favorite ones are coconut flan, pan de Pascua (this one is similar to an English Cake) and panettone.
8. Be honest: do you like giving gifts or receiving gifts better?
Keith: I like receiving because I’m selfish. I like getting gifts for my girlfriend because I love to see her happy.
Melissa: Both! I can’t really choose. I mean, I love receiving gifts, especially when they are things I wanted for a long time.
But also, giving the time to pick something for someone else, makes me very happy.

9. What is your favorite thing about Christmas?
Keith: I love the cold weather & spending time with family.
Melissa: The food! And the decorations! Especially at night. I love how the light looks.
10. As a kid, did a sibling ever receive a present that you wished was for you?
Keith: I don’t think so, but probably.
Melissa: I don’t have memories of that. But maybe? Things like that happen!
11. What would be your dream place to visit for the holiday?
Keith: Somewhere I could snowboard all day, like Aspen.
Melissa: Somewhere with snow! Maybe even New York! It’s summer here so we are very far from having a white Christmas. I like it too though.
It makes the holidays more relaxed. At the end, Keith and I want the same. We like snowboarding and that would be an amazing way to spend the holidays.
12. Do you make New Year’s resolutions? Do you stick to them?
Keith: I don’t make them.
Melissa: I do make them. I’m crazy about New Year’s traditions and rituals (not in a crazy way). But sadly, I usually don’t stick to them. Although I want to this year to be different.
Crossing my fingers I will make it! Also, I’ll start making my boyfriend more excited about New Year’s traditions!

13. What makes the holidays special for you?
Keith: The feeling of peace and happiness. The holidays make me feel like the world isn’t as cruel & messed up as we think it is.
Melissa: Same! It feels like everyone wants to be a better person.
14. What’s the best part about Christmas for you?
Keith: Everything from the food to the songs, to spending time with family.
Melissa: Spending the time with family and friends. Also… the food!
15. You have been granted one Christmas wish…what will it be?
Keith: I would wish for world peace & happiness. Or I would wish that stupid, selfish people weren’t in positions of power in the world.
Melissa: Stop war and more tolerance. It seems like nowadays no one can have an opinion. You get attacked or bullied very easily. Everyone is different and we should understand that.
Now let me ask you. What makes the holidays special for you? Do you agree with us in the answers? Let me know in the comments!

I love all of these questions, but OMG can’t believe you use a fake tree! 😉 Picking out the tree is the super fun part.
