Welcome to my blog!
Hi there, I’m Melissa, and welcome to my blog! I’m lifestyle blogger that loves creating new content and help other girls to navigate their lives. My specialty? Writing about relationship tips and advice.
I’m currently in an international long distance relationship (I live in Chile while he lives in the US) so I know from experience the struggle.
Like I mentioned, I was born and raised in Santiago, Chile. As a Chilean, we love avocados, we are crazy about football (a.k.a soccer), and every day around 5 pm we enjoy tea time with our families (we called it: “la once”).
If you want to visit my beautiful country, check out this posts with 7 reasons why you should visit Chile. If you love adventure, this is the perfect destination for you!
I have a degree in International Business, but a few months before graduating (back in 2016) I realized it was something I wasn’t enjoying.
It was there when the so-called ‘quarter-life crisis‘ knocked at my door to shake up my life and mess up with my plans. That’s ones of the reasons why, after my graduation, I decided to start this blog.
It wasn’t a decision I took out of the blue. I have always been connected to blogs and social media.

I had my first blog back in 2009. When blogging was all about writing about your day and how cute your puppy was. I remember talking about Twilight and how bad I wanted a boyfriend like Edward Cullen.
Now blogging is different, and I love the idea of giving important information to my readers.
So on March of 2017, after making an impulsive decision, I started Elephant on the Road.
I needed something that would keep me busy (and happy) at least until I could find a job.
Well, time passed and I couldn’t find one.
Not being able to find a job made me realize that I needed to try something different.
I was so disappointed and unhappy. Not only because I couldn’t find a job, but because I had to start one in an area I didn’t like.
So if are you going through the same thing… you are not alone!
Even though it seems like no one understands the struggle, the confusion, and the stress. There are many in the same position, and I’m here for you!
So don’t doubt about contacting me if you just want to chat. You can do that right here.
Like I said in the beginning, I’m also in an international long-distance relationship. While I live in Chile, my boyfriend spends his days in the US. So basically, there’s a 10 hours distance by plane.
How everything started? I met my boyfriend in March of 2015, while I was studying abroad at the same school as him. For me, it was love at first sight! Not rally, but I fell in love pretty fast.
Now we have been together for almost five years. So I can tell you I have a ton of experience with long distance relationships. You can check all my long-distance relationship tips. I’m sure they will help you a lot!
A little more about me: I love traveling, especially when I have to learn about new cultures. I’m obsessed with my dog, Coco. I can’t say no to sweets. Starbucks is where I like to spend my money, and reading romance books is how I like to scape the world.
About the Blog
Why Elephant on the Road?
I love elephants and what they represent. I grew up having little statues of those animals in my house, just for good luck. But with some research, I found elephants aren’t just for good luck, but happiness, wisdom, and patience. As a symbol, elephants bring strength when feeling weak and helps to react to all situations in a calm and confident manner. Perfect theme for this blog!
