31 Days Of Halloween Movie Challenge

Halloween season is starting soon, that’s why I wanted to create this 31 Days Of Halloween Movie Challenge, that way you will have a movie to watch each day.

In this Halloween movie challenge you will find psychological thrillers, paranormal, aliens, etc. Basically a little bit of everything.

I’m also not including movies that are older than the year 2000.

FYI: this Halloween movie challenge is not family friendly; but if that’s something you would like, let me know in the comments!

31 Halloween Horror Movies Marathon

To make it easy for you, I have linked/mentioned the websites where you can find each movie. I also added a link to the each trailer (just click the title of the movie to watch it).

Additionally, some of the movies in this 31 Days Of Halloween Movie Challenge are available for free, so you don’t need any subscription to watch them.

Finally, I also included new movies that you can watch at the movie theater since that’s also a fun activity to enjoy this spooky season.

Tip: If you are a member of Regal Crown Club (you can join for free), you can access their value days which is every Tuesday. You can get tickets for as low as $5 and you can also get 50% off on popcorn.

I know that AMC Theaters do something similar, but they call it Discount Tuesdays. Although their discounts are not as good as Regal.

Day 1

The Fourth Kind (2009)

During videotaped sessions with her patients, a psychologist in Nome, Alaska, uncovers disturbing evidence of alien abductions.

I chose this movie for the first day of the challenge to start “slow”.

You don’t get to see any aliens, but it’s creepy enough since it’s based on “true” events and it makes you feel like you are watching a documentary.

Day 2

The Visit (2015)

A teen and her younger brother discover a shocking secret about their seemingly charming grandparents while staying at their remote Pennsylvania farm.

Another movie that is not that scary, but it does make you jump a lot. It also has some light moments where you can laugh a little and relax.

Day 3

The Invisible Man (2020)

When Cecilia’s abusive ex takes his own life and leaves her his fortune, she suspects his death was a hoax. As a series of coincidences turn lethal, Cecilia works to prove that she is being hunted by someone nobody can see.

BONUS: Saw X (in theaters)

If you are in the mood, this day you can go to the movie theater and watch the latest installment of the Saw franchise.

Day 4

A Quiet Place (2018)

In this terrifyingly suspenseful thriller, a family must navigate their lives in silence to avoid mysterious creatures that hunt by sound. Hailed by critics and audiences around the world, experience the must-see movie of the year.

BONUS: It Lives Inside (in theaters)

Or instead, you can go to the movie theater that day (since it’s a Tuesday) to watch a new scary movie at a good price.

Day 11

Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark (2019)

A woman’s legendarily frightening stories are read by a group of teens, who must solve her mystery before it destroys every last one of them.

While this is not a horror movie, I think it wouldn’t be bad to take a break from all those rough topics from the previous days.

Also available on Hulu.

Day 12

Trick ‘r Treat (2007)

On the night when demons and tortured souls are free to walk the earth alongside mortal revelers, four tales of terror will make you laugh even while scaring you.

A group of young adults visit a boarded up campsite named Crystal Lake where they soon encounter the mysterious Jason Voorhees and his deadly intentions.

Surprise! This year we have an Friday 13th in October, and you obviously have to watch this movie for the 31 Days Of Halloween Movie Challenge.

Day 14

The Bay (2012)

In this terrifying eco-horror tale, a mysterious parasitic outbreak wreaks havoc on a small seaside town.

Day 15

The Taking of Deborah Logan (2014)

An elderly woman battling Alzheimer’s agrees to let a film crew document her condition, but what they discover is something far more malevolent.

Day 22

Constantine (2005)

A police detective enlists Constantine’s help in solving the death of her twin sister, taking them through the world of demons and angels that exists just beneath the landscape of contemporary Los Angeles.

This is the first scary movie that I watched (on a Halloween party when I was 12) and to this day there’s one particular scene that still haunts me.

Day 23

Parasite (2019)

Ki-taek’s family of four is close, but fully unemployed, with a bleak future ahead of them. The son Ki-woo is recommended by his friend, a student at a prestigious university, for a well-paid tutoring job, spawning hopes of a regular income.
