Hey there, lovelies! It’s me again sharing with you some of my favorites books I have read so far, and that you should add to your fall reading list if you love romance books.

If you love romance novels, then this list with romance books you should add to your fall reading list is for you! Share on X

Lately I have been obsessed with paranormal romance books. Which I have always enjoyed, but right now I only want to read about that genre.

I even started reading about time traveling and aliens, which I never thought I would be interested in. Sci-fi romance novels are super fun as well!

1. Guts & Glory: Brick (In the Shadows Security #6) by Jeanne St. James

“That city is well fortified which has a Brick instead of a wall of men.”

Former Navy SEAL sniper, Brick, has no idea what hits him when a woman bursts into his life unexpectedly.

So not only is he dealing with this female whirlwind, he’s dealing with his own past coming back to haunt him.

This is the last book in the series; and even though I didn’t read the previous books, I didn’t feel lost while reading the book. So it’s okay to read it as stand alone!

This book has a little of mystery and I found it was pretty funny as well. Londyn and Brick have an amazing chemistry (even though they wanted to hide it).

Also, this book is available on Kindle Unlimited and Audiobook.

2. Nikolai (Her Russian Protector #4) by Roxie Rivera

After a brush with death as a juvenile delinquent, Vivian swore she’d never stray across that line again—but there’s just one problem with her plan to stay on the right side of the law.

She’s completely, irrevocably and unabashedly in love with Nikolai, the Russian mob boss who saved her life.

From the moment Vivian appeared in his life on that tragic April night, Nikolai felt himself inextricably bonded to her.

She’s the bright light in his dark world and the only thing that keeps him from sliding deeper into a life of crime and violence—a mobbed-up life he can’t escape no matter how hard he tries.

After Vivian is ripped from his arms in a brazen blitz attack, Nikolai will stop at nothing to get her back—but rescuing her and keeping her safe in his arms isn’t enough.

Suddenly, Nikolai’s only chance to keep her safe is to do the one thing he vowed never to do—he’ll drag her deeper into his shadowy world and bind her to him forever.

Because their tangled pasts are about to collide and the shockwave threatens to bring Houston’s criminal underbelly to its knees…

If you are into mafia romance books, then you are going to love this book! The whole series have good books but this one and Nikolai, Volume 2 are my favorite.

The chemistry and story behind Vivian and Nikolai are simply the best!

BONUS: Nikolai, Volume 2 (Her Russian Protector #6) by Roxie Rivera

Even though things have happened between the first Nikolai book and this one, you don’t have to read the other book in between these two in order to get the most of the story.

3. Claimed by the Horde King (Horde Kings of Dakkar #2) by Zoey Draven

In my human settlement on the hostile plains of Dakkar, I am an outcast, a strange girl orphaned since birth, alone, and dreaming of a life I don’t have.

I hunt to survive, though it is forbidden, though it breaks the strict Dakkari laws that we all must follow.

When my desperate actions catch the attention of a Dakkari horde king—a cold, powerful, and merciless warrior leader, with eyes like flint and a body like steel—he seeks to punish me…and he succeeds.

But then he does the unexpected.

Instead of taking my life, he claims me as his own.

He steals me from my village and brings me back to his battle-bred horde. There, I warm his bed. I make bargains with him on starry, cold nights. I look into his grey eyes and see not a monster, but a demon king who captures my soul.

But demons have a way of never letting go…and as the cold season descends upon Dakkar, I begin to wonder if I even want him to, even when it hurts.

Lately I have been very into sci-fi romance books, and I’m very pleased with the great books I have found in this genre.

This is the second book in the series, and I can’t wait for the third one!

Each book in the series can be read as a stand alone, but you might understand the world better if you read them in order.

Both books are amazing, but this one is by far my favorite. I recommend reading the first one as well!

Also, this book is available in Kindle Unlimited and Audiobook.

4. Bound by the Past (Born in Blood Mafia Chronicles #7) by Cora Reilly

Dante

My life is a tale of betrayal.

I killed so many because they betrayed our cause, because they betrayed the Outfit.

A hypocrite. A liar. A murderer. That’s what I am.

Five times I betrayed the Outfit. With my blood I made a vow to our cause, swore my life to it, promised to put the Outfit first. Above all else.

Five times I chose a woman over the good of the Outfit. I betrayed my father. My vow. My men.

You reap what you sow.

Would my betrayals destroy everything I swore to protect?

Valentina

On our wedding day I made a vow to stand by Dante’s side. In good and in bad times. To love him through it all.

Growing up in the mafia, I knew the challenges in our life would be numerous. I never expected them to tear at the very base of our family, of our existence.

Mafia romance novels are some of the books I enjoy the most. Some are super dark, and others tell you that not everything is bad in the world.

The ‘Born in Blood Mafia Chronicles’ is a great series to read if you are into this genre.

I have no problem in reading the books in series in different order when each books talks about a different couple.

You might be a little lost if you don’t start in order, but in my opinion is not necessary, and can be read as a standalone.

Also, this book is available on Kindle Unlimited!

5. May Contain Wine (SWAT Generation 2.0 #5) by Lani Lynn Vale

This is for charity. This is for fun. You are a professional. You can do it.

Those are the words that Calloway Alvarez chants to herself as she watches all the large men gather into the small room where she’ll be doing the interviews for her employer—Hero Magazine.

Honestly, she’s convinced herself that she can’t accomplish the task at hand.

That is until she hears his voice, and her head turns to see him standing there.

Louis Spurlock. Greek god. SWAT officer. Keeper of her secrets. Ultimate fantasy. Man who will break her heart.

***

Louis Spurlock has been playing nice.

He’s been biding his time, giving Calloway the space she thinks she needs.

But then he sees her taking photos of his friends in all states of undress, talking to them all as if they’re best friends, and that little thread of control he’d been managing to hold onto unravels.

Let’s change it up, she says. And the moment the words are out of her mouth, he’s stripping to his skivvies, and throwing out a challenge while he’s at it.

Calloway won’t know what hit her when he’s through playing.

But he does know one thing for sure. When it ends, she’ll be his.

I love Lani Lynn Vale’s books. They are light, funny and they have a little of drama that make the story a little more interesting.

This by far has been one of my favorite books in the ‘SWAT Generation 2.0’ series.

Calloway and Louis have history. They just need a second chance to make things works.

I don’t know about you, but second-chance romance novels are so sweet!

Sometimes couples don’t workout because they are in different paths in life, not because they don’t love each other. So I just love when couple give their love story another try.

This book is available on the Audiobook subscription as well!

6. Broken Earth (Argurma Salvager #1) by S.J. Sanders

Veral’monushava’skahalur is an oddity among his species, a lone Argurma cyborg divorced from his own kind by choice and to escape termination as a malfunctioning unit.

Wandering the fringes of space as a salvager, he comes across a planet beyond the boundaries of the federation, rich in metals remnant of a dead civilization.

Or so he thought.

Confronted by cannibalistic mutations of the indigenous species, his salvage has suddenly become a lot more complicated.

Even more so when he encounters a female surviving on her own. She is strong and fearless, begrudgingly earning his admiration.

Terri is hardened by a life of hunger and watchfulness, and yet is moved by a compassion that he’s never possessed.

When his admiration turns into the first signs of a forming mate-bond, he knows his fate is sealed.

Unlicensed mating is forbidden—if his malfunctioning wasn’t already a death sentencing, taking her for her mate would be. Yet, he finds that letting her go is no longer an option.

Hands down one of my favorite romance books about aliens.

Inside this sub-genre, you will find that many books about humans being abducted by aliens, which can get very old easily.

So I love this new spin in the alien-meets-human storyline.

I have read a few books written by S.J. Sanders and she is truly a great writer! I recommend checking out her other books as well.

If you have Kindle Unlimited, it’s available there!

7. The Predator (Dark Verse #1)by RuNyx

What happens when an unstoppable force meets an immovable object in the field of death?

In the dark underbelly of the mob, Tristan Caine has been an anomaly. As the only non-blooded member in the high circle of the Tenebrae Outfit, he is an enigma to all – his skills unparalleled, his morality questionable, and his motives unknown. He is lethal and he knows it.

As does Morana Vitalio, the genius extraordinaire daughter of the rival family. What Caine does with weapons, Morana does with computers.

When a twenty-year old mystery resurfaces, Morana infiltrates Caine’s house, intent on killing him, unaware of a tie that binds them together. Hate, heat, and history clash together with unexpected sparks.

But something bigger, something worse is happening in their world. And despite their animosity, only they can fight it down.

In my opinion, the second book is so much better, but not because the story sucks, it’s because the relationship between Morana and Tristan solidifies.

In this case it’s important to read this book before ‘The Reaper’. The story continues right where the first book ends.

BONUS: The Reaper (Dark Verse #2) by RuNyx

I can’t recommend both books enough. The storyline is amazing and intense.

I wasn’t able to sleep normal hours for two days straight while trying to finish them.

Sadly, none of these books are available on Kindle Unlimited, but in my opinion they are worth the $5 each book costs.

Remember that you can always get samples to see if a book is something you might enjoy.

8. When He’s Dark (The Olympus Pride #1) by Suzanne Wright

Cat shifter Bree Dwyer doesn’t fear much. Ironically, what she fears most is the person who was put on the Earth just for her.

Your true mate wasn’t supposed to be cruel and twisted; wasn’t supposed to be someone who’d never love or want to claim you.

The rumors that her true mate is dead bring her only relief. Bree’s intent on moving forward with her life and building a future with someone else.

Sadly, the male she wants most is one she can never have—a hot-as-sin wolverine shifter who happens to be her boss … and the cousin of her predestined mate.

Aleksandr “Alex” Devereaux detests being bullshitted, but he’s been lying to himself for years—pretending he thinks of Bree as extended family; that he doesn’t want her so bad he aches with it; that he can’t feel himself weakening against her pull.

The night they spend together changes everything. He’s done fighting himself on what he wants. Someone isn’t happy about that.

Possibly the same ‘someone’ who’s playing mind games with Bree, trying to scare her.

They’re succeeding, because too many leads point to the possibility that the culprit could be the one person that she’s determined to believe is dead.

Suzanne Wright is one of the best authors in the paranormal romance genre. I 100% recommend her books if you are interesting in reading more about the shifter world she has created.

Even though, I prefer the books where the main couple are destined mates, I found that Alex and Bree have a great chemistry together!

9. The Alien’s Savior (Drixonian Warrior #5) by Ella Maven

“I’ll do anything to make sure she’s safe. Even from me.”

Naomi

All my life, I’ve been protected. First by my older brother, and now by a crew of women on a strange alien planet who insist on protecting my virtue.

Who cares about virtue? I have to make the most of this situation, and if that means shacking up with a big blue guy, I’m not opposed.

So when I find that the very alien who I’m convinced is my mate has gone off on a reckless mission, I risk it all to bring him back myself.

Gar

Anger doesn’t even begin to describe how I feel when a fragile female puts herself in harm’s way for me. And not just any female-of course she’s the one I can’t resist.

But I don’t deserve her, and I’ll never bind her to my doomed destiny. Except now she’s in danger, and if it’s the last thing I do in my cursed life, I’ll make sure she’s safe. Even from me.

Another book about aliens! I recently discover how fun Sci-Fi Romance novel can be.

It might not be everyone’s cup of tea, but if you want to try something different, then this is a great book to start.

In my opinion is hard to find good book in this genre, so I definitely recommend starting with the ones that have good reviews on Goodreads (more than four starts).

10. Hero’s Haven (Dark Protectors #11) by Rebecca Zanetti

He’s her darkest fantasy…

After years of struggling, Haven Daly has finally accepted that she’s nuttier than a fruitcake.

Why else would she see visions of a beautiful but tormented male every night . . . and actually believe she can talk to him, even feel his touch?

But thanks to those dream journeys, she can paint images nobody else on earth can duplicate.

In each brush stroke, she captures the blatant masculinity and raw desire in his eyes that promise he’s coming for her…and soon.

She’s the light that keeps him going…

Quade Kayrs has already suffered a lifetime of pain and torture. Completely isolated, he kept his sanity  thanks to one beautiful female, a vision with kind emerald eyes. In the end, her soft voice led him out of hell.

Now, naked and alone, he’s in a strange world that bears little resemblance to the one he left behind. All he knows is Haven.  All he wants is Haven.  His final mission? To protect her from the evil hunting them both—whether she likes it or not…

Rebecca Zannuti, another awesome romance noel writer. Her ‘Dark Protectors’ series is amazing and I recommend it.

Again, the books can be read as a standalone, but you will understand the world better if you read them in order.

Past characters are mentioned in the book and it can be confusing if you don’t read the previous books.

So tell are you excited for fall? Have you already read any of these romance books? Let me know in the comments!

  1. Ok, more than anything those covers make me chuckle! It doesn’t take a chiseled guy to get me to read a good book. Or maybe it does…the world may never know. Lol!

  2. I absolutely adore reading (as I’m sure you’ve learned from my blog) but I do admit that erotic or smutty romance is not my typical genre. I just don’t feel drawn to it. I love my fair share of romance in my contemporaries, but not as much the intense stuff! However, I have a TON of bookstagram friends who love this kind of book, so I’ll have to share these titles with them!

  3. Reading is what I do when there’s nothing else to do. At first, I was kind of losing hope in finding a good book to read. So this list sure will help me. 🙂
